Candida is a first-generation Indian American woman whose personal and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to addressing sexual shame and stigma. Growing up at the intersection of Indian culture, Catholicism, and the pressures of assimilating into American society, Candida experienced firsthand the repressive and shame-filled attitudes surrounding sex.

Candida comes to the mental health field after several careers in engineering, research, business development, and entrepreneurship. This initiative is an act of aligning her skills and passion with a critical gap in mental and behavioral health qualiy and services.

We are seeking passionate, purpose-aligned individuals to help establish a robust and visionary web of support for The AFFECT Project. This includes building an interdisciplinary advisory council, a solid field team for research, philanthropic partners and strategic connecters to drive the impact and scale of the mission.

Together, this diverse alliance will serve as the living framework that sustains and propels the AFFECT Project forward, weaving together wisdom, strategy, funding, and community connection to transform the field from the inside out.
